ᐅ Utility room before installing screed: paint the technical equipment now or later?

Hello everyone,

How did you handle this? Did you paint the utility room before installing all the technical equipment and screed, or only afterward? Both approaches seem to have their pros and cons. I can easily imagine that installing the screed might leave marks on the wall behind. The same applies when installing the plumbing. However, painting around the installations later or partially removing them to paint is probably not ideal either. What are your experiences? Thank you very much.

Large wooden box cabinet with two doors standing in a room.

Don’t criticize Mom’s cabinet. It’s not that bad. Karsten

This is too nice for the utility room – it belongs in the hallway.

That space is too tight for the large vehicle. It is big, and the hallway is small. Why not use the utility room? It is next to the technical equipment there, but nicely free along the wall beside the hot water heater. And it is visible. Remember, the back door... only the official visitors at the front... Honestly, it deserves for the house to be built around it [emoji2]

Glad you like it so much. It used to be ugly, stained dark brown with paint. But... Dilunett paint stripper works wonders. Then just sand a bit in the corners with a detail sander. That way, the natural wood comes back. We resisted the urge to reapply stain. Karsten
