Yaso2.0Hello everyone,
Some time ago, I came across these stair cupboards and found them very practical at first glance.
Now we are considering replacing our regular storage space under the stairs with a stair cupboard.
Since it will be custom-made by a carpenter, it comes with a certain cost.
Who has such a stair cupboard and can share their experience? Was it a worthwhile investment, or did it not meet expectations in the end?
The image is provided as an example; this is roughly what we had in mind.

Of course, it depends on the room. If it’s big enough or if the staircase is located in a living area, you can do that. Otherwise, I agree with @ypg and @AMNE3IA. We originally planned to use it as a wardrobe as well, but our entrance hall measures only 2.6 x 3.9 m (including the stairs) (8.5 x 12.8 ft), and that would have been too bulky. Also, it’s quite impractical to have to open doors all the time. And storing wet jackets inside a closed cabinet doesn’t make much sense either. We had a floating drawer chest built, with a regular wardrobe rail above it. The bottom of the drawers is a grate, which allows shoes to be ventilated (or they usually just stand underneath anyway).
