Here, as the title suggests, you can discuss freely and as you wish.

At first, I also didn’t notice that the original poster’s real goal was to promote KNX rather than gather opinions as stated in the first post. I only realized this through the parallel KNX thread and the reply 😉

Well, you are definitely on the wrong track...

No one in the KNX community is interested in more practical and cost-effective solutions

Of course, one of the advantages of open standards like KNX is the ability to integrate all others under one system... but most people just don’t understand that...

And I can only repeat myself: anyone who sees information and education as a mission is only looking to confirm their preconceived (unrealistic) opinions.

Has anyone gained experience with Somfy products (control of roller shutters and venetian blinds)?

Is there a good, aesthetically pleasing surface-mounted occupancy sensor that can be installed under a concrete ceiling?

Unfortunately, there is so much reinforcement and piping in the ceiling that I cannot install or drill in a flush-mounted box.
A conduit is already in place, and KNX cables are also there.
Has anyone implemented this or has experience with surface-mounted occupancy sensors?

Alternatively, I could install two sensors on the walls instead – although that doesn’t look very appealing.
Does anyone have experience with this approach?
Unfortunately, MDT only offers motion detectors here.

MDT also offers motion detectors, and I believe they include a surface-mounted design as well.

I was referring to the wall version..
There are only motion detectors available for that.

I don't really like the MDT ceiling units.

For the Merten Argus, there is a surface-mounted enclosure available for such a case.
