Hello everyone,
could you please briefly explain to a layperson what advantages a "smart grid ready" label on a heat pump offers? One advantage is a €500 BAFA grant, but what else, and which technical requirements are still necessary? What can/must I control with the help of this interface (meter)?

It is actually supposed to be an air-to-water heat pump without photovoltaic system.

The SG Ready label is awarded to heat pump series whose control technology allows integration of the individual heat pump into a smart electrical grid.

And what does that mean specifically? ??? Exactly the kind of answers I wanted to avoid, because I also found those online...

This means exactly what it says... if your utility provider offers a smart grid, then the heat pump can handle it. In other words, they can turn your heat pump on and off to avoid peak loads.

The funding requirements include the simultaneous installation of a storage tank with a minimum volume of 30 liters (8 gallons) per kilowatt

Just the (completely unnecessary) storage tank alone would practically negate the bonus...
