Hello,

we want to buy 20–25 square meters (215–270 square feet) from the neighbor's XXXXXXXL plot. He is not opposed to it.

A small wooden garden sauna is planned to be built there. Is something like this (in Hesse) allowed without a building permit / planning permission, like a garden shed?

Thank you

I am almost certain that this can be done without a building permit / planning permission. However, getting approval from the neighbors due to concerns about eye cancer will probably be difficult. 😀

But getting the neighbors’ approval because of the risk of eye cancer will probably be difficult. 😀

you know, they have a cat and a dog

actually, because of the annoying whining, I should get the property for free

...the required clearance distances must be observed, and the stove should only be installed in cooperation with the chimney sweep!

Whether to expose the neighbors to smoke several times a week is a personal decision; we have chosen electric power and are preparing for 400V (400 volts)...

I think the wood referred to was more likely the material used for the sauna...?

@Alex85

That does not make my answer any less "correct"!
