Hello,
I received a quote from the plumbing company carrying out the work, and I was almost shocked. I understand that plumbing installations are expensive. However, I find the installation of a rain shower (surface-mounted, with thermostat) for about 1000 € gross quite overpriced (especially since you can find similar products online for around 100-300 € without installation, which shouldn’t be that expensive, especially considering the user manual is available online).
The installation of a faucet we chose is supposed to cost over 300 €.
Is this justified, and does it really result in significantly better quality (I am not an expert), or is this simply taking advantage of the contract situation (take it or leave it)? We are not obliged and could go with the standard option….

For example, I was surprised that the base cabinets were delivered fully assembled, not in parts like at hardware stores.
This means you get a high-quality factory assembly, which is then built right into the material. That was the case for me too. We have a vanity unit from Burgbad, and it arrived fully assembled. Only the sink was separate. The shower, on the other hand, came almost entirely in parts, so the installation took quite a while.

We have the Concept 300 in both showers here. It was the “house brand” at the sanitary wholesaler used by the general contractor’s plumbing team. Although it’s the only product we took from that brand, they are great. I still don’t fully understand what others could do better. After all, a lot of water comes down from above on a 30cm x 30cm (12in x 12in) area. Our additional handheld shower is hardly ever used, at least not by my wife, if that’s a quality indicator. @Hausbaer Here you have first-hand information exactly about your model; that should be helpful.
