I want to have a bathroom floor covered with click vinyl or tiles.
I have already removed the tiles.

Now I want a professional company to remove the adhesive. See photo.

1) Do I need to make sure that the adhesive residues from the floor tiles are also removed under the wall tiles, or is it common to remove the adhesive only up to the edge of the wall tiles? Since the area will be finished with silicone, the joint won’t be visible.

2) What is the approximate cost for this work? The area is 4 sqm (43 sq ft).

Thank you

That will be difficult. For such an unprofitable job, you will probably have to accept whoever is willing at all. It can quickly amount to several hundred €.

Either you lay the floor tiles up to the edge and then install the wall tiles on top (standard procedure), or the other way around. In the end, only the silicone joint is visible.
Since in your case the floor tiles will hardly be slid under the wall tiles again, the adhesive residues can remain.

150.00 € (euros) would be acceptable for me. If that is not feasible, there are alternatives.

1) Renting the machine would cost around 100 € (euros) per day.

2) The cheapest renovation grinder I found online costs 89 € (euros): Matrix MT 1100. It should handle about 4 sq meters (43 sq ft).

How long does the sanding typically take with a basic renovation grinder if the craftsman is inexperienced with this kind of work?

What would you recommend?

Either you hire a contractor for the tile installation, which includes removing the old adhesive, or you do it yourself.
No one will come just to scrape 4sqm (43 sq ft) of adhesive.

You had already asked recently

With a rotary hammer, depending on the condition of the adhesive, about an hour or two. I wouldn’t use a grinder for that. Maybe just try using a hammer and chisel.

I would also try using a hammer and chisel. It’s something you can definitely do yourself. And for the leftover parts that don’t come off completely, you can probably work on them with a concrete grinder, right? Something like the one in the attachment doesn’t cost a fortune, you just need the right angle grinder.

Blue, round grinding or polishing disc with segmented outer edges and a center hole.
