Taunuskind6 Dec 2013 17:19Good evening,
Thank you for the additional replies.
The carpenter has already advised us over the phone against using a solid wood panel on this side of the kitchen counter. Over the long term, it will inevitably cause problems... For now, we purchased a laminate countertop as a temporary solution yesterday and are considering our long-term options carefully.
The carpenter is still coming next week to cut it to size, as the wall is quite uneven and crooked (it’s a very old house, after all...).
Wishing you a great weekend,
Taunuskind
