Hello everyone,

we received an offer for our interior doors, and the specifications are as follows:
  • Jeld Wen
  • Solid core panel
  • White painted
  • Rounded edge with Euro profile lock, cylinder with 3 keys per door
  • Wall thickness between 14 and 20 cm (5.5 and 8 inches)

Since sound insulation is important to us, we chose a solid core panel. Yes, the bottom door seal is missing, but due to the controlled residential ventilation system, we require this. We understand that with the air gap at the bottom, we won't achieve complete soundproofing, but we want to get as much as possible in a practical way.

The price per door is now relatively low at 340€ (including installation, excluding door handles), which makes us unsure if the door might be of poor quality. But it has a solid core, is painted three times, etc. Is there any reason to be concerned about the manufacturer Jeld Wen?

What do you think? Based on the specifications, would the door be suitable, or does it possibly seem to be of low quality?

This will be a typical SK1 door, which is quite decent. Of course, it is the basic level, and there is always room for improvement.

We have these Jeldwen doors. They are okay. You can go with them.

I’m not sure about the exact classification. It’s quite possible that it’s SK1. Going higher probably doesn’t make much sense since we have the ventilation slot at the bottom anyway.

Otherwise, Jeld Wen seems to be reliable, which should be sufficient for us in this regard. Thanks!
