Hello everyone,
I am having increasing problems with the range hood!
The kitchen is getting greasier over time. After 2 years, the grease buildup keeps getting worse. Even with the ventilation on full power, the whole house smells whenever I fry just one sausage. Has anyone experienced the same and found a solution?
- Range hood: NUTID HDN P800 S (wall-mounted slanted ventilation)
- Kitchen size: 8 m² (86 sq ft) - stove and range hood are in a 3 m² (32 sq ft) niche
- 1 patio door – always closed
- Exhaust air goes outside – external flap opens, no dirt visible. Duct length is 80 cm (31 inches) and 125 cm (49 inches) pipe. No bends in the duct
- Cooking area: 2 gas burners and 2 induction burners
- Width of cooking area: 62 cm (24 inches)
- Height of exhaust hood – bottom edge, due to slanted wall mounting: 60 cm (24 inches) – measured from worktop with a 1 baseboard along the wall
- Filter cleaned once per week
I am a fan of Ikea kitchen modules – the kitchen was also installed by an authorized fitter. However, the exhaust system is a complete disaster, and I thought at €599 I was buying something reasonable!

IKEA-Freund9 Feb 2015 16:22Hello,
and where does your fresh air supply come from? For safety reasons (since it’s a gas stove!), the hood must be connected so that it only operates when there is enough fresh air intake (for example, via a switch on the window to be opened). Otherwise, there is a potential risk to life (and the exhaust performance also suffers).
Best regards,
