Hello dear community,
does anyone have a carport with a masonry side wall? We would like to build one ourselves but still need some inspiration, and unfortunately, we can hardly find anything on Google. Maybe you also have some tips on what to consider.

Perhaps someone here already has experience with this.

The structural engineer will tell you the required masonry thickness since it needs to be calculated anyway. However, you can assume 175mm (7 inches) calcium silicate bricks.
Using brick slips would be a smart choice to maintain the drive-through width. Alternatively, consider making the carport 50cm (20 inches) wider. I consider 6m (20 feet) to be the minimum width for two cars if there are walls on both sides.

Also pay attention to proper drainage. Everything else is actually quite straightforward.

Thank you. Do you think I should provide the structural engineer with some information on how I want to connect this, or will they decide on the type of connections?
