Good evening 🙂

Our new build has started, and now I’m wondering whether I should lay drainage concrete (6 inches) for the base of our driveway and garage or not. I’m concerned about stability, so normal cars can park there without the ground sinking. Or would a standard sub-base with sand / gravel / crushed stone (all properly compacted, of course) be sufficient for this kind of load?

Thanks!

Topsoil removed. Concrete recycled material added.
Compacted with a plate compactor. 5cm (2 inches) of crushed stone on top. Surface layer applied.

So, almost as I imagined it. I have about 60 cm (24 inches) of topsoil to remove, then around 45 cm (18 inches) of recycled concrete aggregate (although 20 cm (8 inches) of frost-resistant sand and 25 cm (10 inches) of recycled material could also be possible?), 5 cm (2 inches) of gravel, and then the surface layer?
Thanks for the quick info.
