Wolf6660Hi,
I want to install a photovoltaic system with about 8 kW battery storage. I plan to do the entire installation myself. The house electrical system is being redone anyway, so the electrician will only need to connect the system.
Where would you recommend buying the equipment – online or from a local dealer?
If online, does anyone know any reliable sources? When you search for these, there are so many sites, but it’s hard to tell which ones are trustworthy.
Thanks

... and then the electrician just has to connect the part...Has it already been confirmed that this is exactly what he will do?If so, I would still ask whether he (the electrician) could obtain the materials for a small additional charge. This is advantageous for warranty handling. Often, electricians have better purchasing conditions, at least if they buy entire pallets of modules. The shipping cost should not be underestimated here.

Where would you buy these items – online or from a local dealer? Isn't the first question how big the price difference would be? The components come with warranties ranging from 15 to 25 years (which could actually be relevant, especially for the inverter). For a reasonable extra cost, having a local contact is always worth it to me. But honestly, I’m not even sure if you would get the parts cheaper online, so it’s best to ask first.

Do you have anyone in your circle of friends or acquaintances for that?
If you hire an electrician through regular channels, I see a high risk that they might refuse to do it. For warranty reasons, or simply because they are busy and prefer to focus on customers who also buy the components from them. That’s more profitable.
So that someone actually replies to the question... check out s e c o n d s o l. On the platform, there are several dealers with good reviews, likely including someone near you. Price-wise, the devices I’ve checked there have always been below price comparison websites. I also order my inverter through a dealer there, and probably the panels as well. You just have to manage everything yourself, meaning whether everything fits together and will work properly. With inverters outside of the "major" brands, this can sometimes be a bit tricky.
