Hello everyone,

I have the following challenge: we completely gutted and renovated the roof of our house (built in 1936), but we want to handle the insulation ourselves to save costs.

Now, during the roof renovation, some floorboards were removed, and I’m wondering what the best way is to connect to the vapor barrier here. Is it possible to simply insulate down to the subfloor? That might be too simple, right?

To be sure, I also checked underneath the floorboards and found… or rather didn’t find, the following:

Thanks in advance for your advice.

What is the final purpose? Living space or storage room?
