Hello everyone,
we are currently having a single-family house built by a developer. At the moment, the rough-in plumbing installation is taking place. In the next few days, EPS boards will be laid on the floors. I assume that „Mehabit Type S“ will be used as backfill around the insulated supply pipes on the floor (to fill the EPS cutouts). Our advisor from the homeowners’ protection association is not in favor of this, as the backfill within these narrow gaps cannot be properly compacted.
What are your experiences? Will the weight of the screed later applied on top not be sufficient? Mehabit is more suitable for use over larger areas, isn’t it?
Thank you and best regards

We have installed something similar and I have no concerns. There will also be Styrofoam and a 6cm (2.4 inch) screed on top.
I don’t really see a problem, but what solution does he recommend?
