schmemplkelmi16 Aug 2012 02:32Hello everyone,
In October, I will start renovating and expanding my childhood home, which means I will have my own apartment of about 100 sqm (1,076 sq ft). The kitchen and living room are part of the "expansion area," together about 40 sqm (430 sq ft) in a rectangular space, and can be separated by a sliding door when needed. Now my question is: I want the entire space to have the same flooring (NOT like shown in the pictures!): durable, "warm" (comfortable to walk on barefoot), and easy to clean; do you have any suggestions, recommendations, or experiences?
Thank you in advance
Lukas 🙂

sirquikeschwein16 Aug 2012 04:30We are facing the same question... Is there underfloor heating?
If not, having a warm floor is quite difficult.
Have you considered vinyl flooring? Either in rolls or as planks to install, similar to laminate? It is supposed to be suitable for wet rooms – but the warmth is still an issue.
I guess tiles are out because of the cold?!

schmemplkelmi16 Aug 2012 20:13Hello,
thanks first of all for the replies. Yes, we have underfloor heating; the floor should be suitable for the kitchen and living room, meaning technically durable and also cozy and visually warm for the living room. I heard about linoleum, which comes in all colors, or also in wood appearance?
Regards, Lukas 🙂

do you think tiles are suitable for the living room? I have never tried that before.
