Hello everyone, I’m really overwhelmed at the moment.
The house is finished except for the exterior landscaping.
Location: Rhineland-Palatinate, in case that’s relevant.
Now we need to retain the ground on one side of the property. This will be done using 80cm (31.5 inches) L-shaped retaining walls.
I want to install a fence on top of the L-shaped walls. But I just don’t understand the development plan.
Hopefully someone here can help me.
The development plan states the following:
“The heights of retaining walls and enclosures according to § 62 para. 1 no. 6 of the state building code always refer to the valley-side intersection point of the natural ground surface adjacent to the built structure (§ 2 para. 6 of the state building code).
Enclosures along public traffic areas and public land are only permitted up to 1.00 m (39.4 inches) above the natural ground level.”
What I don’t understand is… what exactly is the “valley-side intersection point”?
And how high is the fence allowed to be?
Best regards

Valley side = the lower side.
Wall 80 cm (31 inches)
Fence 20 cm (8 inches) remaining.
Is the wall adjacent to public land or private property?
