Hello everyone,
My planner is asking for an additional 2400 EUR to have the windows finished in anthracite on the outside. Is this a realistic amount? These are Weru uPVC windows with triple glazing.
Here is a list of the windows (width x height):
6x double windows D DK 1.76m x 1.26m (5.8 ft x 4.1 ft)
6x floor-to-ceiling windows DK 1.13m x 2.26m (3.7 ft x 7.4 ft)
1x floor-to-ceiling double window D DK 1.76m x 2.26m (5.8 ft x 7.4 ft)
3x windows DK 1.01m x 1.26m (3.3 ft x 4.1 ft)
What would these windows cost in the standard all-white version, and what do you estimate as an additional cost for the special anthracite color on the exterior?

The one-sided film coating of plastic windows costs about 10% extra. Since your windows will certainly not cost anywhere near €24,000, he probably added a bit more to that amount. With Tony Montana, that might be more accurate.
Were the €2,400 just an estimate from the planner or an offer from the window manufacturer?

Sebastian

Yes, the additional cost corresponds to what my window manufacturer would have charged (considering the window size and number of windows) – and that would have been acceptable as well.
Our windows are dark oak (dark gray, almost black) on both the inside and outside. Having film applied on both sides is cheaper than on one side, but it was never a question for us since we wanted nearly black windows inside anyway, and we would have chosen that even if it had been more expensive.
I can’t provide information on the surcharge compared to pure white windows because white windows were never requested. However, you can experiment with different options on popular window configurator websites. Although the windows on these sites are cheaper than those from specialized dealers, manufacturers, or carpenters, the surcharge for various film options should be roughly proportional. This way, you can get an idea of the additional costs for different features.

The 2400 was quoted to me by my planner after checking with the window manufacturer. I don’t actually know the final cost yet. I will follow up again next time, but I think it will be as the construction expert said: when building a turnkey house, it’s take it or leave it...

Why only anthracite on one side? As mentioned above, experience shows that wrapping both the inside and outside is usually not more expensive (often cheaper) than having a solid-colored exterior with a white interior. I initially wanted white on the inside, but fortunately, my wife insisted otherwise. In my opinion, the windows now look much more high-quality not only from the outside but also from the inside compared to identical white plastic windows. But of course, it’s a matter of personal taste... there’s no real argument about that.
