Hello everyone,
A good friend owns an optical shop. The store has been broken into twice now. The property damage each time was considerable. Does anyone have experience with intruder alarm systems and possibly connecting them to a mobile phone? I really like the concept of a fog system, but it also triggers the smoke detectors...
I would appreciate any information.

The insurer only accepts VdS. But thanks for the tip.

In your case, or for a commercial property, I would look for a certified installer on the Telenot website or contact the prevention department of the responsible state criminal investigation office, as they also offer free advice and can recommend reputable companies.Haha! Thanks! I’ve already checked that page, the tip about LKA is helpful. And yay! Finally something that actually worked!

I had an alarm system linked to a security service in my hi-fi store in Berlin. When a burglar entered through a window in the backyard, the system was triggered, I was notified, and I arrived on site within 15 minutes along with the security guards. The police arrived shortly afterward. There was only property damage and a disturbed desk. No equipment was stolen, and no money was missing since none was kept in the store. This was in 1995.
Conclusion: The alarm system did its job.
At my parents’ house, a burglar broke in through a conservatory door in December 2017. He apparently reached a chest of drawers in the living room when the system triggered. A neighbor who was outside with his dog checked but saw nothing unusual. We received a call from other neighbors while my parents were on vacation, discovered the open door, called the police, and had the scene secured. Only property damage occurred—money and jewelry were not in the house and therefore could not have been taken.
