Hello everyone,
A good friend owns an optical shop. The store has been broken into twice now. The property damage each time was considerable. Does anyone have experience with intruder alarm systems and possibly connecting them to a mobile phone? I really like the concept of a fog system, but it also triggers the smoke detectors...
I would appreciate any information.

Ask the local security services what system they use. Then you can have the system installed and connect it directly not to your phone but to their monitoring center. They will then come by or send the police.

So you mean less the construction companies and more actual security services?

Hello, so our properties (schools) were equipped with an EMA system about 2 years ago, and we have had no false alarms. As far as I know, the detectors are from Honeywell. Otherwise, I could take pictures of one detector, magnetic contacts, and the control panel tomorrow if desired!?

Hi,

In our old office, we had something like this installed because otherwise we wouldn’t have been insurable. Companies that install these systems basically form their own industry. We got some quotes, and I think they were quite similar when the scope was comparable. The system including installation cost about 7000DM (around the year 2000).

The signal was connected to a monitoring center, but I always drove there myself after a call from them (about 6 minutes by car) and checked carefully. Then I called the monitoring center back -> Everything was okay. A dispatch by them would have been charged each time, and usually that would have also triggered a police response (also charged).

Over 5 years, we only had about 6-8 false alarms, never anything real.

@Flocko1 You’re welcome. I appreciate any information. However, it is important to me not only to detect the alarm but also to know what it triggers. How do I or "the authorities" find out about it?
