Hello everyone,

A domestic hot water mixing valve was installed at my place following the attached schematic. In my opinion, this setup is not entirely correct (according to the VTA322 instructions). Among other things, the circulation pump should be connected back to the cold water inlet of the mixing valve with a check valve.

Could someone please confirm if the installation with the circulation pump is correct as shown?

Electrical wiring: red, blue, gray cables, box symbol; note below.

Thank you in advance.

To my understanding (reflecting the manufacturer’s documentation), the circulation should return to the cold water inlet of the thermo-mixer, since this mixer sets fully to cold water due to the circulation and the resulting temperature increase at the hot water outlet.
The hot water inlet of the VTA322 would then presumably be completely shut off by the mixer?
This would mean the circulation pump has to work against resistance, or fully against the closed mixer.

Since cold water cannot flow in (no drainage, no supply without pressure boost), it likely shuts off the hot water completely.

Unfortunately, the manufacturer only provides technical support directly to professional contractors.
