Feja2018Hello,
Today I assembled the Hemnes daybed. When putting the two parts together, I noticed that the slatted frame is crooked on the front drawer section. The slats slope upwards outward, and the metal rails supporting the slats are not at the same height. Because of this, the bed cannot be pushed together properly. I would appreciate any advice on troubleshooting this issue.
Thank you!

nordanney30 Sep 2018 19:24I am familiar with this problem. It depends on the installer.
If I remember correctly, it’s about whether the battens are screwed from the top or the bottom. The manual states this clearly, but it is often overlooked.

Hello,
Thank you for the quick reply! In the front part, the battens are only inserted from above using those small plastic clips. But if I don’t find any other issue, I’ll try screwing them in from below. I’m quite sure it has something to do with the top/bottom strip. I had the same "problem" last Christmas – took all the battens out and reinstalled them differently...
The long horizontal bar on the inside is screwed in once with the rebate facing up and once with the rebate facing down. I think that’s where your mistake is. Take a close look at the drawing in the instructions on page 15. You’ve probably just screwed the front bar in the wrong way.
