Hello,
In our new build, the ceilings will be cast in-situ concrete.
How should the ceilings be finished afterwards, what would be the most cost-effective and what would be the most attractive solution?
Skim coating and painting? Or suspending the ceilings? Paneling?

No, this is not like a precast hollow-core slab.
The ceiling will be formwork cast.
I don’t think the surface will be nearly as smooth as with precast hollow-core slabs.
That’s why just filling won’t be enough.

For me, the best solution would be to leave the in-situ concrete as it is.

That is definitely sufficient—provided it is properly plastered and, of course, correctly shuttered (formwork).

Most importantly, you won’t have to fill those annoying joints...

Usually, you don’t need painter’s fleece, but it does help conceal cracks.

Have the ceiling plastered in the traditional way and then painted.
Simply filling it in with putty will not look good.

Because I know what cast concrete ceilings look like. There are ridges, joints, seams, and so on everywhere.
Of course, you can also plaster them, but it involves significantly more effort.
