I have a walk-in shower with an integrated shower channel. I clean it regularly. After about two years, light limescale deposits have become visible. Of course, I can easily descale the removable part, but unfortunately not the channel itself. How should I proceed here?

Seal the drain and then pour in a mild mixture of citric acid? The shower channel should easily withstand that, right?

You don’t see the lime stains at all, though? Why do they bother you?

Not citric acid, as it can cause superficial changes. Vinegar is okay.

How do you descale other items? Use descaling pads, and you'll be able to remove limescale even in stubborn areas.

That’s true. They still bother me, though—I’m not exactly sure why ;-)

For everything else, I soak it in citric acid or vinegar or clean it regularly so that stubborn lime scale doesn’t build up in the first place.
Thanks for the tip—descaling pads were new to me.

You can also try soaking some paper towels with the descaling solution and placing them on the stains to let them soak.

Fittings? Do you unscrew them?
Anyway: Akupads are nothing new or a miracle solution. If you don’t have those, an aluminum scrubber also works—both are common household cleaning tools used for everyday cleaning by homeowners where the surface doesn’t need to be protected.
