ᐅ What is the best way to keep a construction diary – should I use the template provided by the professional association?

we have started building our house, and I am required to keep a construction log (partly due to occupational safety regulations). How have you managed this? Did you simply use the templates provided by the occupational safety board? Designed an Excel document? Are there any recommendations for free software?

What exactly are you? Required to keep a construction log? How are you building? With a general contractor, architect, or doing everything yourself with helpers?

I am managing the construction with separate contracts without an architect.

Even though I am not required to, I would like to voluntarily maintain one for the accident insurance institution (BG) and for my own records.

I don’t really understand the point either... You would need to be on the construction site every day and have a technical understanding of every trade. Neither was the case for us.

And let’s be honest, no one really reads such a diary later on. It just ends up on a shelf somewhere.

By the way, you can also do it online.

Perhaps I should have been more specific or clearer in the original post:

I want to keep a construction log of the hours worked by all helpers and myself, and I would like an online tool or freeware program for this purpose.

Does anyone have experience or recommendations?
