StefanMarks-127 Aug 2012 19:39Hello dear building experts!
I am planning to install underfloor heating in my living room with parquet flooring (oiled beech). I have found many different opinions about this online. Many advise against it and warn about cracking in the parquet.
But is this really the case, and could it possibly be avoided by choosing a specific type of wood or installation method (floating or glued)?

MODERATOR31 Aug 2012 23:36There are types of parquet flooring suitable for underfloor heating; ask your flooring supplier about them. Installation details can be found in the product information; it is generally not a significant issue, as the combination of parquet and underfloor heating works well.

We have mosaic parquet, and that works well. Also, make sure to ask the manufacturer about the warranty period to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Everything is fine here, and we also have underfloor heating with parquet flooring. There are absolutely no problems. No cracks, nothing at all. It is important that the screed dries properly. Especially in winter, gaps can sometimes appear, but that has not happened in my case so far.
Best regards

They can provide information on which parquet flooring is suitable for use with underfloor heating. Nowadays, there are many types of parquet that work well with this. Additionally, they offer useful advice on installation.
