Hello dear community,

I am new here, so please be kind if I make any mistakes.
I am thinking about building a small cabin in the Austrian Salzburg region (south of Salzburg).
I already own a plot of land, so the cabin just needs to be constructed.
By a small cabin, I mean approximately 11x7 meters (36x23 feet) with enclosed walls: one main room for living and sleeping, a kitchen room about 1.5x2 meters (5x7 feet), and a bathroom around 3x1.5 meters (10x5 feet).
There will be no heating system installed (heating will be done with a fireplace), and water and electricity will be set up. Mostly wood will be used (I am thinking of using logs as walls). There will also be a roof, and ideally a nice small balcony.

Unfortunately, I have very little knowledge and experience in house construction and I’m not sure if I can manage this without guidance. Maybe I will hire someone who can do it, or I will give it my full effort myself.
My only question is, how much it would cost to build such a cabin. I would also appreciate any advice or tips. If I have forgotten anything, please let me know.
Thank you in advance,
Marc

Is this allowed in Austria? In Germany, you would need to comply with the Energy Saving Ordinance and have a building permit / planning permission for this.
It’s not that small either. The floor area is similar to most houses here in the forum.
Self-built wooden cabins are common from Scandinavia and Canada.

I estimate around 200,000 euros.
