Hello everyone, I have a problem with my Ikea Hemnes dresser, specifically with stubborn stains on the surface. It is a white lacquer finish, and recently some stains have appeared that I couldn’t remove with regular cleaning products. These include grease stains, water marks that seem burnt in, and some light ink or marker stains. I have already tried cleaning with mild dish soap and some vinegar water, but the stains just won’t come off, and I’m worried about damaging or discoloring the lacquer layer. My question to you is: what is the best way to remove such stubborn stains from Ikea Hemnes furniture with a white lacquer finish without damaging the surface? Are there any special methods or products you can recommend? I look forward to your experiences and tips.

If you prefer a gentle cleaning method to remove the stains, you can first try cleaning with a microfiber cloth and water with a few drops of dish soap. If that doesn’t work, apply a baking soda paste or, sparingly and carefully, isopropyl alcohol.

For general maintenance: Afterwards, use a silicone-free furniture polish, which helps protect the finish and makes the surface somewhat more durable again.
