ᐅ Houseplant infestation. Does anyone recognize this pest?

Hello everyone,

I know this is not directly related to gardening. But since it’s a question about a plant, I wasn’t sure where else to post it.
We have had an Aralia in our hallway for a few weeks now.

Green houseplant in a white square pot in a bright hallway next to window and door.

It has recently developed a peculiar infestation.

Green round leaves of a climbing plant with white spots on the leaf surface.

Some of the leaves are becoming blotchy.

And they are actually rotting away.

Does anyone know what this could be and how we can treat it?
We aren’t particularly attached to the plant, but it would be nicer to keep it if possible.

Best regards,
Tarnari

Could it possibly be woolly aphids? We had something similar on a plant that was kept in too dark a place.

Woolly aphids look like this 😀 we have some here 😀

Get predatory mites and parasitic wasps. They basically take care of everything.

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but am I supposed to get those creatures or something to get rid of these creatures?
Do you actually want parasitic wasps and mites inside your house?

You should get the bugs from the big river. These are beneficial insects that eat the larvae of most pests. Once the pests are gone, they die too. Simple.

As I said, sorry for the silly question. Even with houseplants? So no parasitic wasps flying around the house afterward?

Yes, no, they can't fly anyway. 😉
