Hello everyone,

I know this is not directly related to gardening. But since it’s a question about a plant, I wasn’t sure where else to post it.
We have had an Aralia in our hallway for a few weeks now.

Green houseplant in a white square pot in a bright hallway next to window and door.

It has recently developed a peculiar infestation.

Green round leaves of a climbing plant with white spots on the leaf surface.

Some of the leaves are becoming blotchy.

And they are actually rotting away.

Does anyone know what this could be and how we can treat it?
We aren’t particularly attached to the plant, but it would be nicer to keep it if possible.

Best regards,
Tarnari

My wife says these are probably whiteflies, also known as greenhouse moths.
The picture with the damaged leaf looks like aphids.
Maybe you can look it up by googling.

Maybe you can look it up with that.

We have (or rather my wife) already googled basically everything. Could it still be something else?

Could these possibly be woolly aphids? We also had something similar on a plant that was too dark.

It already itches me just looking at it. I would put them right in front of the door :-)

The strange thing is, with all these pests there should be some kind of "network" infestation. But there is no sign of it:
