My husband and I are planning to build a small house... our current plan includes a knee wall height of 1.25 meters (4 feet) and a roof pitch of 40–45 degrees (gable roof).
No dormers and no basement.

The trip hazard: we have three steps that are only secured on one side. However, they are very visible. I just know that one step is often criticized by professionals, including in my initial house designs. You probably need to consider the location, such as lighting, whether it’s a primary or secondary traffic area, and the walking angle.
🙂 If this might be an issue for you, you could perhaps place a flower pot on or in front of the stairs. With more space, maybe a chair or something similar 😉
