are there manufacturers that have real wood panels on aluminum exterior doors (and preferably also on the interior side)? I’m not referring to wood-look finishes, but actual wood panels.
So far, I have only found Kneer Südfenster, but their distribution is somewhat complicated.

That would also be a challenging material combination the other way around. Aluminum on wood is already tricky and only a few can manage it. But wood on aluminum, I would say, no one does. My parents have a solid wood door, and over the years it has warped a bit. I thought an aluminum door leaf would generally be more torsion-resistant than a solid wood door and perhaps safer. I also find the wood finishes less convincing than real wood. Many say you can’t tell the difference, but somehow I think you can still see it.
Earlier today, I finally spoke with a local distributor. The door we’ve chosen is entirely made of wood and even meets RC2 security standards. So, I guess the safety issue is off the table for now.

This material is usually illegally logged from rainforests in Indonesia (and neighboring countries). If you buy it, make sure it has a certification seal (FSC, etc.).
There are also different types of Meranti wood with varying quality. However, people often just buy “Meranti” without knowing the actual quality of the wood. Additionally, the higher-quality varieties have been so heavily logged that lower-grade wood is mixed in. This is hardly noticeable to the naked eye.
