Hello,
My fiancée and I are planning to build a house. The offer includes flooring and wall/plastering work, each quoted at €15,000.

A friend of ours owns a tiling company, and we want to send him the offer. He might do the work for a bit less.

My question is, do I have to pay the tiling company privately, or can I pay them with the construction loan?
It might be a silly question, but I hope to get an answer.

Thanks, best regards

With an invoice = possible from the loan
Without an invoice = you need to discuss it with the bank, as this is undeclared work

Maybe the question is simply phrased the wrong way.

If you remove these items from the contract, you get a credit that reduces the total house price (from the general contractor?). However, you won’t get the full €15,000 credited, only a fraction, because the general contractor uses a mixed calculation.
Otherwise, just ask. There are differences between companies.
Your other costs, as long as they relate to the house construction, can of course be paid from the loan against invoice, as mentioned above. But also check with the bank what form is possible. Some always pay only after receiving an invoice, others require you to collect exclusive invoices first.

In the end, you also have to look at the offer to see what the €15,000 covers: if it is flooring for the entire house, with about 80m² (860 sq ft) tiled including materials, that is not expensive.
