Hi!

In today’s world of fast food and ready meals, the question arises: what about our nutrition? It is noticeable that fewer and fewer people really know how to cook. Many actually live day by day on frozen pizza and canned food. And this cannot be healthy in the long run!

When you consider how much dead food people consume, it becomes clear why lifestyle diseases are becoming more widespread. You are what you eat! And since poor nutrition only shows its effects after many years, I believe the consequences will only become truly apparent in the coming years.

Anyone who has enjoyed fresh vegetables straight from the garden will know the difference! Most of the fruit and vegetables available in supermarkets are no longer worth much. Lettuce that is already wilted, tomatoes that taste like water, and apricots that aren’t even ripe — and you still have to pay for it!

What are your thoughts?

Hi everyone!

I believe one reason many people choose what is commonly called junk food (I also include ready meals like canned soups, frozen skillet dishes, etc.) is the price. For example, you can get a can of soup for as little as 99 cents, and these frozen meals are usually not much more expensive. At that price, it is almost impossible to prepare the same meal using fresh ingredients. Nowadays, it is more important than ever to watch costs. At least, that’s how it is for me.

Hello!

Yes, I’m familiar with that problem as well. When I was living on unemployment benefits a while ago, I could hardly afford fresh ingredients. Frozen buttered vegetables were already a kind of luxury, so to speak. And now that I have a job again, I hardly have the time or energy to cook something proper. It’s more practical and convenient to stop at the kebab shop on the way home from work. Healthy eating seems to be becoming more of a luxury these days. 🙁

Will food soon become a luxury?

Hi,

You are really not wrong about what you are saying. Food is getting more and more expensive. I recently saw a documentary that showed many parents struggling to provide their children with daily meals. And the report was about Germany! When you hear that children in Africa suffer from hunger, it hardly comes as a surprise anymore. But in Germany! That really is a sign of decline.
