Hi!

In today’s world of fast food and ready meals, the question arises: what about our nutrition? It is noticeable that fewer and fewer people really know how to cook. Many actually live day by day on frozen pizza and canned food. And this cannot be healthy in the long run!

When you consider how much dead food people consume, it becomes clear why lifestyle diseases are becoming more widespread. You are what you eat! And since poor nutrition only shows its effects after many years, I believe the consequences will only become truly apparent in the coming years.

Anyone who has enjoyed fresh vegetables straight from the garden will know the difference! Most of the fruit and vegetables available in supermarkets are no longer worth much. Lettuce that is already wilted, tomatoes that taste like water, and apricots that aren’t even ripe — and you still have to pay for it!

What are your thoughts?

Hello gardening community!

I can only agree with what you’re saying! I believe that very few people can even tell parsley apart from chives anymore. I often wonder how things got to this point. Food is actually one of the most important things there is. And when people constantly consume food that no longer provides real energy, their energy will eventually run out as well. Exhaustion, burnout syndrome, and mood swings are just some of the consequences that are bound to happen.

The time we live in is dominated by constant stress. Most people experience stress, whether at work or in their personal lives. The pressure to perform is enormous. How is anyone supposed to cope with all this without eating high-quality food? For a while, it might be manageable. But eventually, it will take a heavy toll!

Hi!

What you’re saying is definitely true. Fewer and fewer people make the effort to prepare home-cooked meals. I want to point out that many children grow up eating mostly unhealthy food. How can a child develop properly if they only eat junk food all the time?

It’s funny to notice that cooking shows are booming on TV. It seems many prefer watching cooking rather than doing it themselves.

Fanaticism is unnecessary!

Hi,

I feel the same way as you. If someone consumes mostly junk food, they will likely get sick eventually—no question about that! However, these health fanatics are starting to annoy me. I believe that if you generally eat healthily, you can occasionally afford to eat something less healthy. In my circle of friends, there are quite a few of these fanatics; just mentioning that you went to McDonald’s once as an exception and you get lectured as if you were incapable of making your own decisions...

Hello,

to start with: I am definitely not a fanatic, because fanaticism is certainly a much greater problem than unhealthy eating. I think if someone decides to eat healthy from now on, that is commendable. But when it goes so far that they try to impose rules on others, that’s where it stops being acceptable. There is nothing wrong with trying to educate others, but if they don’t respond, you should leave them alone. It doesn’t lead to anything except pointless arguments.

Such behavior can sometimes be almost compulsive or even pathological.

What I also find troubling, as Mara has already mentioned, is that some parents do not ensure that their children are served high-quality meals. Children can’t really understand this issue.

It is noticeable that many children are already significantly overweight. This affects not only their bodies but also their mental well-being.

Hello,

Many people often don’t even have the time to eat healthily. If you’ve worked hard for 8-10 hours a day, you’re usually not very motivated to spend another 1-2 hours in the kitchen after work. At that point, you just want to put your feet up and relax. That’s why reaching for canned soup or going to a fast food place is, of course, more convenient and above all, time-saving.
