Hello,

we are planning to buy a semi-detached house (built in 1997). However, the facade needs to be painted (it has never been done since construction).
The semi-detached house has 118sqm (1270 sq ft) of living space and a white plaster facade.

Can someone tell me approximately how much it would cost to have it painted? Preferably from a painter.

Thank you very much!

It would be useful for a calculation to know whether a scaffold is needed, and if so, how high it must be built. Then, how many square meters (square feet) of surface area are involved. The scaffold itself is relatively inexpensive in comparison, and it is also possible to do the work yourself.

About 8 years ago, for us, a three-story end-terrace house with scaffolding, blasting (cleaning), repairing cracks and loose parts, and two coats of silicone resin facade paint from Brillux, altogether around 5,000 euros.

I have been considering whether a simple cleaning might be enough. It is supposed to cost €10 per m² (approximately $10 per sq ft). No scaffolding is needed, and the company offers to clean a test area first (free of charge), so you can decide whether you like the result or not. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Here is the offer.

How tall is the house? I think painting can usually be done by yourself... If necessary, also using a ladder. You just need a bit of patience.

They leave a cleaning mark right in the middle, so you hardly have any choice but to sandblast the rest as well.
