Good evening everyone!

Our plumber recommended the "Water Softener 11 by Magnetic" as a water softening system. I have looked into the topic a bit and, of course, mainly found the usual suspects (e.g., Grünbeck).

I don’t need Wi-Fi or any other modern features; the system should simply work and soften the water. Plain and simple. The Magnetic unit seems to be a basic model, which basically matches my requirements. It’s also quite a bit cheaper than the alternatives…

However, and this makes me a bit hesitant, I can hardly find any information about this system online.

Are you familiar with it?
Do you have any experience with it?

Thanks in advance,
Best regards

Well, I don’t have personal experience with it. However, I have a water softener installed at home myself. The magnetic one’s adaptive control is interesting, but if it regenerates anyway after a maximum of 4 days, then the learning function is more or less pointless. Mine regenerates every 3 days. Other than that, I believe it will do its job. Water softening is really not that complicated.

Well, let's hope for the best.
I placed the order for the magnetic unit with our installer today.
Looking forward to seeing how it goes…

Hello Appel2000,
could you briefly share your experience with the Magnetic 11? I am also looking for a water softening system, and my installer recommended this unit.
Thank you very much for a quick reply.
Best regards

Purpose?
For a single-family house, the system is significantly oversized. Approximately 85 liters (22 gallons) of regeneration water with about 850 grams (1.9 pounds) of salt consumption results in considerable operating costs.

Hello MayrCh,
the system is for our single-family house. We use about 160 cubic meters of water per year on average. What would this mean for the operating costs with this system? I am quite a beginner in this matter and don’t have much knowledge.
Our water hardness is 17.
Thanks and best regards
