Hello everyone,

Do you have any experience with manufacturers of concrete cisterns who supply directly to private customers, without going through a building materials center?

The manufacturer should of course also have a plant nearby.

The Palatinate region would be of interest.

Thanks!

There is basically nothing wrong with it... The technology itself (pumps, potable water make-up modules, building services equipment, etc.) is usually purchased from other suppliers anyway, such as companies like Otto Graf (who distribute plastic cisterns), KSB pumps, or 3P filtration technology, and so on. These are all good products, each with their own advantages and disadvantages.

However, as a matter of principle, I would recommend buying from the local building materials supplier. If everyone buys directly, at some point those materials won’t be available anymore, and you will have to order your PVC pipes (KG pipes) and other necessary parts online.

The supplier can provide the right KG pipes (usually they accept leftover pipes, bends, etc. back without a restocking fee), the appropriate support rings for the manhole cover if the cistern needs to be installed deeper due to the inflow or outflow, and conduit pipes (you can use KG pipes for this) if you plan to run a connection into the house.

Usually, buying directly isn’t significantly cheaper anyway.

Hello...

I placed an order just over three weeks ago at Zisternendiscount (.de) for a 5800 l (1534 gallons) concrete cistern. Everything went smoothly. Thirty minutes of loading time was also included in the price. None of this was an issue for us at all. I was advised against plastic cisterns.

Best regards
