Good morning everyone,
I have a question regarding domestic hot water preparation.
Here is the situation: I live alone in the house, and my 8-year-old son stays with me every other week.
Now I am wondering whether I should set the hot water preparation to Eco or Comfort mode and if my settings for hot water and circulation are appropriate.
Monday to Friday
Hot water between 6-7 am and 4-6 pm.
Saturday to Sunday
Hot water between 7-8:30 am, 11 am-12 pm, and 5-6 pm.
Circulation:
Monday to Friday → 6-7:30 am and 4-6:30 pm
Saturday to Sunday → 7:30-9 am, 11 am-12:30 pm, and 5-6:30 pm
Switching frequency 4/hour.
Hot water set to 51°C (124°F) with a 20 K supply temperature increase; the boiler heats up to about 60°C (140°F).
Do you think this is okay?
Someone else told me to set it to Eco mode and keep the hot water on 24/7, which would apparently save more energy and reduce the risk of Legionella. Somehow, it’s not easy to find the right approach now.
Thanks and best regards,
Micha
