Hello everyone, how much space is there behind a tall pull-out drawer (40cm (16 inches) high) in a 60cm (24 inches) or 80cm (31 inches) base cabinet? We are currently looking for a place for a sub-distribution board or electrical panel in the kitchen. We need about 10cm (4 inches) of depth for this. There would be enough space in the sink base cabinet, but the cabinet in question is a standard 60cm (24 inches) or 80cm (31 inches) base cabinet.

Best regards,
Ben

Hello Ben,
a 45cm (18 inches) deep drawer should fit there. But...
electricity and water together? You should definitely ask an electrician first, I believe there are specific regulations about that, as there is a significant risk if something leaks...

Hey robi, thanks for the information.

The box is supposed to go behind a regular base cabinet, in this case an 80cm (31.5 inches) one.
Do I understand correctly that there are drawers with different depths? What is the standard depth? The 45cm (18 inches) depth is mainly intended for sink base cabinets, right? But it should fit into any other base cabinet as well?

Best regards,
Ben

Yes, the 45cm (18 inches) deep drawers also fit into other cabinets. The standard depth is 53cm (21 inches).

Okay, 53cm (21 inches) might also work since the distribution box shouldn't be too thick. Well, the depth has already been ordered anyway; if it doesn't fit, it will be replaced with the 45cm (18 inches) one.

Thank you very much for the help
