Hello,

we want to further renovate our attic. Currently, there are tongue-and-groove boards about 10cm (4 inches) wide and 2.8cm (1.1 inches) thick exposed. Since the floor tends to flex, I plan to reinforce it with 12mm (0.5 inch) OSB panels, laid crosswise, glued and screwed to the tongue-and-groove boards. We intend to create a small bathroom and a home office. The installer who fitted our air source heat pump recommended an XPS 400 system from an online retailer in Dortmund.

1. Is OSB a good choice or are there alternatives?
2. Is the thickness sufficient?
3. Is gluing and screwing advisable, or should it be a floating installation?
4. Any experience with dry construction underfloor heating systems? Suggestions?

Thank you in advance!
