we have very hard water with a high limescale content. After a few years, faucets and other fittings need to be replaced because the limescale damages the seals. It’s also not ideal for kitchen appliances.
Therefore, I would like to know if it is feasible to retrofit a water filtration system right after the main water connection?
(And roughly how much would that cost?)

Yes, it is possible. The cost ranges between 1,500 euros and 3,000 euros based on the quotes we have received. There are different systems available, some use salt for refilling, while others use magnets. Search online for water softening systems, as there is a lot of discussion about which solution is the best...
Hi
Don’t search for a filter, as the lime scale is dissolved in the water and cannot be filtered out.
What is needed is a water treatment system with an ion exchanger or salt. Magnets only help if the water “believes” in it, which is usually not the case.
Depending on the desired flow rate, different system sizes are available at the prices mentioned above. Regular maintenance is essential due to the risk of bacterial contamination.
