first of all, I wish you all a Merry Christmas.
Since work on my construction site is scheduled to continue quickly after the holidays, I would appreciate some suggestions regarding a small issue.
I will be building the drywall partitions in the bathroom for the heating engineer, who will start work in January. I already planned the bathroom thoroughly with the bathroom planner, and I particularly liked the continuous niche along the shower back wall. I have already ordered my materials for the construction: Ytong blocks and a 1m (3 ft 3 in) lintel.
Now to my actual question: Is it possible to realize a niche like this?
If I had ordered a longer lintel, I could probably have created a sort of bearing support by embedding the lintel into the wall on the left side and resting it on the partition on the right side.
Do you have any other ideas? Or do I have to accept the bearing surface (marked in red)?
Best regards,
XxTankerxX
