Dear forum community,
we are a bit uncertain about our windows. Originally, anthracite-colored (outside) PVC windows were planned for our house. However, I have heard from friends who are currently building that several window manufacturers advised against this. The reason given was fading after a few years. Additionally, we found reports online about warping issues. Can you confirm these experiences? How do your windows look after 15 years? I am not very eager to end up with faded windows that may be difficult to close after a few years. By the way, our windows will most likely be from the company Knerr Südfenster.

Thank you very much for your feedback

My parents have dark green uPVC window frames. So far, there has been no fading or warping. The house has been standing for 12 years.
Neighbors have had their house for 25 years with black window frames. If you look very closely, the frames on the sunny side appear slightly faded. However, if you don’t pay attention or compare the frames directly, you don’t notice any difference.

Hello,
among other reasons, we chose an aluminum cladding in anthracite.
This topic has already been discussed several times here in the forum. Maybe just try searching for it.

May I ask which window manufacturer you have chosen?

Try using the search function here in the HBF; you will find numerous discussions about colored plastic windows.

Yes, Unilux. I believe the series was called IsoStar-Aluminum or something similar.
