Hello,
we are considering covering the concrete screed in our house with epoxy resin to achieve a concrete-look floor through the epoxy.
Does anyone have information about the cost per square meter (without screed, as that is required anyway)?
Are there any significant disadvantages?
Thank you very much for your answers.

Hi,
I’m also interested in this. From what I’ve been able to find out, it’s not easy to achieve a nice (crack-free, smooth, and even) floor. A colleague of mine showed me photos of his floor, which turned out rather poorly, and advised not to hire the cheapest screeding contractor.
It probably makes sense to rely on a company experienced with epoxy resin flooring, especially one that has done it multiple times before. They will likely charge more for the installation accordingly.
We are currently considering doing it ourselves as well and would appreciate knowledgeable responses.

Design screed based on cement or anhydrite costs approximately 130 EUR per square meter (14 USD per sq ft) in the Berlin area and up to 150 EUR per square meter (17 USD per sq ft) in southern Germany. The main cost driver is the up to 8 grinding passes required to achieve a good surface. Material costs are not as significant.
Epoxy resin is not a natural material; the mixture and exact mixing ratio are very important. If in doubt, the material can emit fumes for a very long time, resulting in harmful substances remaining in the air.
If you want an "artificial-looking" floor surface, consider solid-colored linoleum. It is better than its reputation suggests!

Hello, we had about 50 sq m (540 sq ft) of microcement design installed in our living room. It creates an exclusive surface, but we didn’t pay 150 € per sq m (about 14 $ per sq ft) for it. The installation and curing process went fairly quickly. Next, the kitchen will be done. The company is based in Bottrop and apparently works nationwide. I’m happy to share their contact details.
Hello,
We are also considering installing a seamless floor surface throughout the entire ground floor in our new build.
Marco07: could you please provide the contact details regarding your experience? Bottrop isn’t far from us, so we would like to get more information.
Best regards
