I recently read that it is possible to get on-site consultations as well. Are these consultations very expensive? Has anyone already had one? And are these consultations helpful?

These on-site consultations are always a very good idea, but it is important to ensure that they are carried out by a qualified energy consultant, not just some neighbor from around the corner. Otherwise, it is simply a waste of money.

And how can I find out who is a qualified consultant and who is not?

That’s a good question. I haven’t had such a consultation myself yet, but I will ask my neighbor when I get the chance and then let you know.

If you want to know where to find such a consultant, I would suggest contacting the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control in Eschborn. They even have their own engineers who work as energy consultants for the BAFA.

You can also contact the chamber of crafts, as they usually certify building energy consultants.
