ᐅ Ground floor constructed with masonry. Gable walls: timber frame with wood cladding?

Tapp2014Hello everyone,
While reviewing our building specification, I noticed the following point.
On the ground floor, the wall structure (simplified) looks like this:
aerated concrete - insulation - brick cladding
Since we want to clad the gable ends and a bay window of the house with wood, the construction company plans to use a timber frame - insulation - wooden facade system there.
As a layperson, I wonder if the transition from the masonry ground floor to the timber frame at the gable could cause problems (airtightness, thermal bridges...).
Or is this just the concern of a cautious homeowner who finds issues in every detail of the building specification?
Best regards
