Hello everyone,

I have reserved this plot of land, see attachment, and have already received a cost estimate from the construction company. The builder plans to construct a house on a slope on the plot, see picture in the attachment. This costs about 18,000 euros more than a house built only on a slab foundation. Additionally, the earthworks have been estimated at 40,000 euros, including drainage, additional foundation work, etc. Unfortunately, this is a total of 40,000 euros more than I had originally planned. What do you think about this cost breakdown? Is it really that expensive?

I don’t like the word basement. Heating, musty, dark, storage room. It can be a normal living floor.
Creative people also suggested putting a basement under the house with a model city villa on top.
Nice residential tower.
Raising the plot is just as useless.

If the budget doesn’t cover the estimated additional costs, there’s no need to argue. Stay away, it’s not affordable.

Wine cellar, vaulted cellar – I can relate to those. But not in my new build.

Certainly not in a new build where the homeowner has to plan cost-effectively. A wine cellar like that also needs to be stocked.
