Hello everyone,

I would like to install a partial-height partition wall in our outdoor storage area. The dimensions are approximately 2.4 meters long and 2.2 meters high (7 ft 10 in long and 7 ft 3 in high). I was thinking of using a 5 cm (2 inch) stud wall that is double-layered on each side because I want to hang some heavy items. This would result in a total thickness of about 10 cm (4 inches). I’m currently wondering which boards I should use. Does anyone have any good advice?

The room is not directly connected to the house and is unheated. However, the space itself is enclosed and has concrete walls with a door. Do I need to use moisture-resistant boards? I was considering using the one-man multifunction boards from Knauf.

For me, a typical case for OSB(3).

Can I first cover the walls with OSB 3 and then install drywall? Does that make sense?

That can probably be done. I wouldn’t do it for an outdoor storage area. If OSB is considered too "ugly," then just paint it.

I find a gypsum board too fragile for the usable area. I would rather use a gypsum fiberboard or just OSB, especially considering that something will need to be mounted on it.

If the wall is not going all the way to the ceiling, where will the studs be attached?
