Q
Quince036929 Jun 2017 16:41Hello,
some time ago, we had our bathroom renovated. Previously, we had two sinks side by side, but now there is only one. The drain of the second sink was sealed with a plug.
Now, whenever we run water into the remaining sink, there is a sewer-like smell. Something else that probably shouldn’t happen: when I fill the sink with water and then open the drain, air bubbles rise to the surface. I believe this might be the main issue (I am not a tradesperson, just an office worker).
Can someone tell me what might be wrong and how to fix it? I have read about air admittance valves that could help, but I wouldn’t know where to install them or if they would even solve the problem.
No other drains have odors, only this one. The vent pipe leading to the roof is also clear.
I hope someone can help me.
Regards,
Andreas
